ONZE COISAS QUE NÃO SE APRENDEM NA ESCOLA

Em palestra numa escola secundária, em 2005, Bill Gates disse que o ensino agradável e politicamente correto existente nas escolas está criando uma geração desconectada do mundo real e candidata ao fracasso. Enunciou então as onze coisas que não se aprendem na escola.
1. A vida não é fácil: acostume-se com isso.
2. O mundo real não está preocupado com sua auto-estima. O mundo espera que você faça alguma coisa ANTES de você se sentir bem consigo mesmo.
3. Você não vai receber 60.000 dólares por ano ao sair da escola. Você não será um vice-presidente com direito a um carro com telefone, enquanto você não conseguir essas coisas por si mesmo.
4. Se você acha que seu professor é severo ou agressivo, espere até ter um chefe.
5. Empregos simples e humildes não ferem sua dignidade. Seus avós tinham um nome diferente para isso: chamavam de Oportunidade.
6. Se você se meter em uma trapalhada, não culpe os seus pais, nem fique se lamentado. Aprenda com isso.
7. Antes de você nascer, seus pais não eram tão chatos como são hoje. Eles ficaram assim ao pagar as suas contas, lavar suas roupas e por ficar ouvindo você dizer como você se acha uma pessoa séria. Assim, antes de salvar as florestas tropicais dos parasitas da geração dos seus pais, trate de lavar o seu próprio banheiro.
8. Sua escola pode ter acabado com ganhadores e perdedores, mas a vida NÃO. Em algumas escolas, aboliram as reprovações e dão todas as chances para se acertar uma resposta. Isto não se parece com NADA do mundo real.
9. A vida não se divide em semestres. Nela não há férias de verão e pouquissimos empregados estão interessados em ajudar você a se encontrar. Faça isso se sobrar tempo.
10. A televisão NÃO é o mundo real. No mundo real, as pessoas têm que deixar a lanchonete e ir trabalhar.
11. Seja paciente com os chatos e impopulares. Há chances de que você tenha que trabalhar para eles.

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.
Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.
Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.
Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
